Nalaac donned an ivory gown, and set the sparkling crown on her head. This was the day that she and the King had to parade in front of the city folk, and make sure that they knew their leaders were hale and hearty. She disliked this part of her duties, but it was what it was, and she knew that it had to be done. Still, she wished her husband could perform the duty on his own. However, this was the life she'd been put into and she'd do what she must.
She walked down to the throne room, meeting her husband there and greeting him with a kiss to his cheek. For all that she disliked him, she could be polite in public, and she would be. He was still her husband, despite how he treated her. They processed out of the palace and then down into the streets of the city. A smile was fixed on her face and she accepted the accolades from the people with a gracious nod and wave. Flowers were offered by children and accepted, to be handed back to a maid trailing them.
Suddenly, the Queen noticed a new guard. Well, that wasn't good. Why were they getting all the positions that were dangerous? This world had it out for her, first Brady, and now this girl. Nalaac motioned to her own guard, then indicated the girl. They would need to talk, and soon before the King noticed it. He was far less accommodating than she was.
