Craven snapped up and apple and tossed a silover piece to the girl manning the stall. He then rubbed it on his sleeve which wasn't very good for rubbing because most of the time he was having to wear dirty clothes. He'd taken to this life though and it was manageable only because of Brady being there and now his new friend needed him.
"So what are you gonna do?"
Craven asked softly, a hint of concern in his voice.
The market place was always noisy and crowded and the best place to discuss things that were rather personal like the child of the queen belonging to a traveller instead of the King. This was big. The king would flip if he ever found out and the worst part was that, apparently the Queen kept saying that Brady would leave her though he'd been here for the last six months. Chances are he was there to stay. Craven on the other hand, was leading up to three months already and he didn't know if he wanted to stay or not.
It would be nice not to have to wash in the fountain. Have a nice bath instead... Oh civilization sounded good right about now. More importantly, it had been three whole months since he'd seen Gia. He missed her something dreadful despite having many advances from quite a few ladies in waiting to the queen. It seemed common place for guards and knights to hook up with these sorts of girls. Craven didn't though. All he wanted was Gia. He bit into the apple flavouring the taste.
"Well, find a place for us to run to of course... I'm not having him go anywhere near any child of mine."
Brady growled the last words as they slipped their way through the crowded market place. It sure was pa- Craven froze when his eyes met with a young market vender selling turnips and other such vegetables not too far from where they were walking.
"Gia?"
He whispered under his breath and Brady came to a halt too.
"What?"
Craven dropped his apple and started shoving his way through the crowd of people until he finally found himself right in front of the tiny stall and on the other side... was his girlfriend. Craven stared... Just stared... Was he halucinating? Was it really her? He was frozen there, just staring, waiting for her to look up and meet his eyes.
