8th Day of Second cycle, Court Physician/Healer of Albanon
Looks like there is a slight way of keeping one's sanity in a place like this, if we're sure to use scraps of paper and then slipped into..... Private places amongst one's person in order to keep records of our thoughts and what we do.
Where can I start? Already I am questioned by some due to the fact that I make suggestions, perhaps above my station, and am therefore to be questioned? Thank the Gods I wasn't born during the Medieval period!
Being an Angel isn't too much of a problem... It's just being a woman, the King is a womanizer with no sense of honour or no hearing of "No!".... He probably has no caring that Angels will generally mate for the length of their lives. or that of their Mates seen as one is (traditionally anyway) to be interjected to another.
Oh John, what messes am I getting into? I cannot even begin to fathom what poor Helen is going through without me around to keep an eye on the kids whilst she's worrying about Nikola, John Druitt and the Abnormals we don't have in the Sanctuary......
And if my Season kicks in.... Oh Heaven above, I do not want to think about it! Not with the King nearby, he wouldn't understand. The Queen... She'd be sympathetic, the poor dear... 21 and already a miscarriage, she is strong though and I am hopeful and at least we have a respectful accord. Mind, being non-Human I guess she understands some of the things we Travelers go through.
I must away, someone requires my assistance... At least Jamie is being a good lad... Who'd have thought? A third son in a place where we are constantly changing where we go and in a sense who we are?!
Perhaps there is hope for this old soul yet....
