Stirring from her sleep as she heard a shout, Elizabeth groaned as she lifted her hand to her face before all of her senses kicked in. The clothes she was wearing were different, the noise itself was different as she roused herself and brushed herself down.
Someone was yelling for all the servants to get up and help get breakfast ready for the King and Queen and that made Elizabeth's back snap straight. 'Oh no! Instead of being in a mental Institute, I'm now a servant?! Oh God...... What am I going to do? My wings are already protesting!' She first thought before she calmed herself down and used the small wash basin to clean her face a little before she lightly brushed her hair a little before stepping out of her room to begin the day.
Stepping in, she was immediately attacked by the cook who shoved a jug of water into her hands. "Get up there and serve the King and Queen water, go on! You're already getting us late!" She screamed at her so Elizabeth swiftly bobbed before making her way upstairs, giving her appearance a check over when she could before she rolled her shoulders and stepped into the Great Hall. 'Come along Elizabeth, you managed an Institute, this shouldn't be too bad......' She thought but rubbed her two rings anyway in a sort of prayer. Hoping.

Blaine was the only one in the great hall that day with his knights hovering around him and serving him reports on the taxes and the century posts and everything else that was deemed important news for the King but his eyes remained on the newbie sitting quite close to him with forlorn almost frightened expression on his face. This one was human for sure. Blaine could tell just by looking at him. Also one of the travellers it seemed. He didn't much like travellers unless... they were human.
"... reported no new developments and await your orders Sire." The drone of words fell silent and Blaine only realized minutes afterward, lifting his eyes to the Knight at his side. He gave a frown and nodded rustling the papers beside him attempting to seem like he'd been paying attention all along. "Right... well. Uh... That's good to hear... you may all... depart to training. And for God's sakes, Find out where my Queen is... For once I'd like her to actually show her face." He grumbled.
There was a scrapping of chairs before the knights departed and Blaine's pulled the papers into his hands lifting them for whomever was close to him now which just so happened to be the Dr. Aura. "Put these back where they belong and can you please ask the cook to bring me my eggs..." He didn't bother looking up till he saw a flash of white wings.
He twisted his head to the servant and stared long and hard at her. "Oh God. Another one... Where the hell are you from?" He knew all wings and he knew what they look like and his people in his lands did not have wings like those...ever. He was on his feet within seconds half glaring down at the older woman.

Making her way inside, Elizabeth drew in her wings into her back though it took some time due to the clothing being slightly too high up her back, and somewhat too low at the front for her liking, for her wings to simply just.... 'Slide in' as the feathers slowly slide through the skin as it opened up a little.
Thinking they were in far enough as the skin healed over the top of them, Elizabeth bent forward a little to pour the water into the goblet but seeing the papers coming she quickly deposited the jug onto the table. That s until the King looked up and saw her.
As he looked at her back, Elizabeth realised that there were still a couple of feathers still going into her skin as she stepped back from the King. Her green eyes were wide as Elizabeth calmed her heart down before she lowered her head, "Please your Majesty, do not be alarmed...." She stated as her calming aura gently pulsed out before she answered his question, "I was originally in Old City before I woke up to somewhere.... Some Institute... Please, I beg for your pardon." She replied as she kept her eyes down and having bent her knees a little to lower herself.
She had lived long enough to know what to do after all.

Blaine blinked when she did all the right things, even lowering herself and begging for him to understand. That's when he felt it. Every time he got angry with Nalaac, this same strange calm that was not his own could flow over him. It didn't take him long to react to feeling of calm washing over him and he took a deep relaxing breath before dropping his eyes to the golden goblet of water she'd just poured him. He reached out a hand and carefully took it up bringing it to his lips.
That's when suspicion kicked in and he quickly shoved the Goblet in her direction. "Drink it..." He hissed narrowing his eyes dangerously at her and waiting for her to comply with his wishes. He didn't trust travellers, especially ones who possessed magic. He didn't trust them one little bit and he was cautious when they actually became servants to him and his Queen. He'd been fooled once before by Sir Brandon who had seduced his Queen and made her fall pregnant.
He would not be fooled so easily again. He was wary now and cautious for everything. His eyes fell to the silver plate of food before him. "Sit down. Go on. Pull up a chair. You must be hungry." His lips pulled into a grin and he tilted his head in a mockingly sweet way.

Elizabeth looked up a little as she heard him relax a little so she stopped her waves of Empathy easily but then she saw the Goblet before her and, hearing the King order her to drink, Elizabeth gently took it from his hands and took a couple of dainty sips from it.
"Nothing is poisoned, your Majesty. What would I gain from such an act?" She assured him, though guessing that he assumed that she was a being of magic, not that she might not be seen as one in such a time period but still....
He then pushed the plate before her and Elizabeth sighed as one gentle hand reached out for one of the piece of fruit before and her fingers delicately grasped it. Lifting it up, Elizabeth began to eat it, having become just as wary thanks to the 'Nurses' and 'Doctors' at the Institute but here, she was at least somewhat safe as she ate the fruit.
Finishing it, Elizabeth used her fingers to dab her mouth as she looked at the King. "You have nothing to fear from me, your Majesty..... How can I prove this to you?" She asked, her emerald eyes trying to search through his for... Something that would calm her old heart.

Blaine eased back into his seat, sliding a hand to rub at his chin when she took the goblet and sipped at the water. He watched her intently as if she were to drop dead at any moment but she didn't. Then she took the food, claiming she would do what ever she needed to to prove to him that she was not the enemy. A slow smirk curved across his lips as he sat back taking the Goblet into his gloved had and pulling it to his lips, deeming it now safe to test. He was very wary that he was not liked by all who lived in his kingdoms and kept a vary wary eye on all he met.
People were stubborn sometimes and would attempt to end his life. "You can start by telling me your name, servant and then maybe you might be of more value to me." If Nalaac could take a traveler into her company and then into her bed, what in heavens name was stopping him from doing the same. "How long have you been here? My advisers have informed me that you are allotted only a few months." He took a grape, picking it from the stalk then popping it between his lips.
The juices burst forth in his mouth and he took pleasure in just this simple act. He should have, a long time ago, taken the time to get to know these travellers who came to his realm and maybe this serving woman could education him a little more. It was about time after all.

Once the King sat down, Elizabeth gracefully took the chair nearest him but still kept the appropriate distance away from him as social protocol, as well as Hierarchical protocol, demanded as she kept up her regular posture. Perhaps a little odd for a servant but there it was, old habits die hard after all especially when one is born in the Victorian era.
Elizabeth sighed as she watched him, "My name is Elizabeth Aura, during one time of my long existence in my world, I would introduce myself as 'Doctor', unfortunately few live to my age or further and... This is not my world..... Your Majesty." She stated as she kept herself calm and composed without resorting to her Angelic self, something she never got around to admitting to Andrew.... Dr. Shepard!
Elizabeth sighed as she remained unfazed by his glare as her eyes met his own, "Barely an hour, I fell asleep in one realm, then appeared in this realm in a room for servants as someone shouted that I come to serve His Majesty some water......" She replied, honestly and without beating the bush but straight to the point. "As far as I am aware, I'll be here for two months and I'll possibly disappear to another Realm.... Or if the Fates decree that I stay here but my role may change...... So I wouldn't go assuming anything.... Your Majesty."
She probably just threw herself onto thin ice there, but she had watched his eyes and smirks and she wasn't a young woman easily swayed by anything these days. She knew the signs as she fidgeted with the low neck to rise it up a little and make the back lower. Her wings having completely disappeared with new skin having healed over where the wings would have joined onto her back.

Blaine listened to her sitting forward as she continued with her story. So there were other realms. He wondered if he could communicate with those other realms. Maybe it was important to seek these travellers out and make them a part of a growing community. If she came back here or remained here or... maybe if she got returned after a few months after her departure than maybe, just maybe she'd have news of the other realms and he'd hopefully find a way to stop these creatures from popping into his realm.
Blaine grabbed a slice of apple and slipped it between his teeth as she fell silent and finally after swallowing his apple and taking another sip of water he licked at his lips watching her attempt to fix the low rise dress she had on. "Stop fussing with that neckline. If I wanted you in my bed you would not be able to deny me anyway. I'm the king. I can have anything I want." He reminded her matter-of-factually.
He tilted his head for a moment then gave a soft sigh. "This other realm you were in, what was it and what did you do there?" He asked resting his elbow on the table so his chin could follow then setting his chin in his palm, watching her with a certain amount of interest.

As if sensing his thoughts, Elizabeth raised an amused eyebrow, "I wouldn't try to assume that you can stop others like me from crossing the Realms, your Majesty.... There are sometimes powers, and beings that neither of us can explain or stop...." She forewarned with a gentle purse of her lips as she did manage to slightly lift up the front of the dress so the back fell a little. It felt a lot better on her back than anything else.
The amusement of her eyebrow remained but a slightly serious arch rose as well as Elizabeth looked back at him, "I am at least 5 times your age... Your Majesty.... I can possibly quite easily make it seem like you have, but you most likely haven't...." She stated as she crossed one ankle behind the other before leaning back a little in her chair. "Besides.... You don't even know what I am.... Such things may be frowned upon by your Court."
Elizabeth sighed as the King asked about where she had been, she was in for it now. "I was in a Mental Institute.... A place where people are supposed to go if they have problems with their minds in order to get better..... This one though, not so much.... For some people, it made them believe that they were ill from the moment they stepped into that place.... I, however, did not; for I locked away my wings and a part of my mind which I could escape to when the not so good Doctors and Nurses came by to give me 'medicines that would make me feel better'." She stated sharply as she watched him for his reaction, any of his reactions.
"I survived..... That's all that I can really say as to what I did." Elizabeth stated at the end as her eyes locked with his, waiting to see what would happen.

Blaine frowned when she said that he shouldn't even attempt to try and stop what was happening. "Don't tell me what I can and cannot do." Blaine grumbled half glaring at her before correcting his posture a little so he was a little more erect in hopes that she would go back to being subservient and intimidated. A lot of good it did him though...
He knew it would take a lot but he ruled a kingdom of magic and what did she knew about what he could and could not do. She barely knew herself what was going on. Blaine frowned at her again, half narrowing his eyes when she mentioned that she might be frowned upon by the court. "The court has no need to find out what I do in my spare time and you will keep your mouth shut or your journey will end on the end of a hang rope in my courtyard, understood?" The King threatened her with a firm line to his jawline.
Blaine looked taken aback by her story slowly lowering his eyes. His face visibly softened from what it had been when she first stated speaking up against him and he bit into his bottom lip for a moment. "That doesn't sound like it was a good realm to be in. You are lucky you ended up here instead, now." He murmured almost sounding sympathetic before head eased back into his seat and fixed her with a look like he'd just made a decision.
"Very well, our court requires a physician. In the time you spend being employed with us, you will also be responsible for seeking out the travelers like yourself and making a list of where they came from, who they are and so on and so forth. You will have one such traveller at your disposal who is known to us as Sir James to protect you should you be required to travel through the land on business and such. Any questions or shall we make our way down to where you will be rooming for your time here?"
Blaine took up his cup again and brought it to his lips sipping at the water before setting it down and motioning for her to refill his cup for him.

Elizabeth looked at him, "Many of us have tried and failed as far as I have discerned.... It is something that I have no understanding of.... I am merely suggesting this to his Majesty so that he may not use up resources and manpower...." She stated, not at all intimidated by his posture at all though she did know how to be subservient by the simple shift of her ankles so her head was a little lower than his. If only to keep the social standing correct.
The lines around Elizabeth's eyes softened, almost to the point of being haunted as she looked away as her green eyes were misted over by a black shadow. "It is not, your Majesty.... And believe me.... I am.... Very grateful..... I am too old for this sort of.... Uncertainty of days...." She sighed, showing her Human side and her back protested a little with the weight of her wings pressing against it as her hand flew back and she hissed a little.
Elizabeth's smile returned a little as she bowed her head to him, "A most wise decision your Majesty..... Being what I am, it is the best occupation for me to fill... I shall be sure to write down what I find out, ready for my successor if I am taken away by the forces of these Realms." She stated to get back onto his more.... Pleasant side as she easily lifted the heavy jug with a couple of fingers and poured out the water into the King's Goblet. "If his Majesty wishes, then let us away." She stated as she watched him.

Blaine frowned when she mentioned that many have tried and failed to do the very thing that Blaine wanted to do. He gave a heavy sigh and nodded slowly, lowering his eyes to the table before him as she spoke. So there was no way to stop these intruders from stepping into his home then? Blaine gave a sigh then flicked his eyes up when she gave a cry from her back being pressed to close to the chair behind her.
"Your wings. They hurt when they come out? " He wished those back stabbing fairies hurt when their wings came out but alas, no such joy. Blaine smirked when she mentioned he'd made a wise decision and took up the goblet taking a few sips from it. He set it down again and got to his feet. The moment he did, the whole room came to life. Servants came from all around to come and clear away what needed to be cleared. The guards opened the doors for him.
In passing he snatched another apple from the table and bit into it leading her out the great hall and into the hallway. He had a lazy, confident walk about him as he made his way down toward the spiral staircase which would lead to the lower region of the castle that held the physicians apartment as well as some other extended Staff quarters. Blaine tilted his head and slowly reached out to stroke his hand along the wall when they started down the stairs.
"Your queen is pregnant. You'll have to check on her regularly. I myself need a sleeping draft every night so you will use the herbs available to make sure you prepare it for me. " Blaine stopped a servant coming up. "Fetch Sir James for me." The man bowed for him and responded with 'Yes Sire' before rushing off. They reached the room and he motioned for Elizabeth to open it.
"This will be your room. " Inside there was a tiny little window to the left looking out across the front courtyard of the Castle and a tiny wooden staircase leading up to a huge bookshelves with mountains of books. There were wooden tables and benches everywhere. On the right side there were herb jars and pots and dried substances and liquid substances. Across the room on the other side was a door through which a tiny bedroom was set out with a bed, cupboard and bedside table.
"You may treat Sir James as your servant when he arrives. He'll be better at helping you gather herbs and such. Other than that, I will send you an apprentice as soon as we find another traveler. The point is to keep you all close right?" Blaine said carefully.

Elizabeth sighed before she took a steadying breath whilst straightening her back and letting her tears water her eyes but stay there as she slowly let out a breath and opening her eyes again as she looked at Blaine. "They do your Majesty... Unlike Fairies, my wings have bones in them which break as I take them into my back, and in order to come out, they rip my skin open before the bones heal back together, which they are denied when they are in my back which is not the norm for Angels... Most of my kind simply hide their wings by using cloaks and such things, but the pain of doing it this way..... Tis not unlike the slice of a sword across your back..." She stated in comparison.
Standing up after the King, Elizabeth waited till he had walked a couple of steps in front before she followed slightly to the side as protocol demanded. Following him down the stairs, Elizabeth noted the route as well as listening to his instructions before she acknowledged them, "Very well, your Majesty. I shall be sure to have your draft ready... And when I can, I shall present myself to the Queen in order to inform her of such an arrangement before I get to her know her a little." She stated, somewhat professionally before stepping into her new workspace and what she assumed would also house her new quarters.
Taking a moment to look around before returning to the King, Elizabeth curtsied, "I shall do my best, your Majesty. As soon as I find any others, I shall let you know, discreetly." She stated with an incline of her head at the end. She hated to do this but... If it helped to save her neck, but also to help inform other Travelers that others were around... Well....
Elizabeth was somewhat surprised that Blaine did not wonder about seeing her in her full form, surely he was curious? After all, there would possibly be a point where Elizabeth had no choice but to have her wings out on display at some point so surely it would be wise for him to accept what they were.

Blaine winced when she mentioned the pain but made it so she would not see him look like that. He made no point to show her any sympathies until she stepped into her new accommodation. When she was inside he paused and tilted his head at her. "The tailor will be sent round. You can leave your wings out here in the castle. No one will harm you but take care in wearing a cloak when you are outside of the castle, even in the citadel, people won't take kindly to a strange creature. " Blaine assured her, finally giving her what she was hoping for.
"People in pain make mistakes and I will not be pleased if you make a mistake. I hope you find everything to your satisfaction and please let the servants know if something isn't." Just then, footsteps could be heard coming down the stairs and Blaine turned to look to Jamie. A smile washed his features. "Ah! Sir James. You're here finally. This is our new court Physician and I was wondering if you would be so kind as to apprentice for her when she requires you? Such a naturally fine knight could prove useful in protecting her." Jamie smiled and moved in beside Blaine offering the warmest smile to Elizabeth.
"Of course, your majesty. Thank you for the compliment." Blaine patted Jamie's shoulder and made to leave. "I will leave you two to get acquainted then. She has wings by the way... some sort of angelic being or something." Blaine said over his shoulder waving his hand as he continued up the stairs. Jamie's lips fell apart and he was about to say something but the king was already gone.
Jamie shifted uneasily then turned his attention to Elizabeth offering her an awkward smile before stepping into the room and closing the door behind him. His eyes danced across the ceiling to the books to the herbs and measuring equipment and fire place and stove and little kitchenette. "By new he meant...?" Jamie had been walking further into the room turning when he asked the question and walking backward.
He was still dressed in his chain mail and training uniform, the belt with his sword still hanging around his waist. Jamie wanted to know... was she like him?

Elizabeth smiled to herself as the King spoke, glad that he finally got the idea that her preference of clothing wasn't merely for modesty (though it certainly proved to be somewhat more agreeable to her) as she turned to him, not letting out her wings just yet. "Thank you, your Majesty....." She stated before adding, "No need to alarm yourself if I make a mistake... Pain never stops me from doing my best..."
When James came around the corner, Elizabeth's emerald eyes fell on him as she, seemingly, examined him but in reality was empathically reading him, getting a sense of who he was.
Her own smile was just as warm but held a wisdom as she saw James shut the door as she sighed softly, "As in.... Am I a Traveler, someone who has appeared here out of the blue like you have? Yes...." She replied to his question as she stepped a little towards him, "My name is Elizabeth Aura, pleased to meet you, James." She added as she held out her hand, either to be shook or kissed, depending on James' upbringing.
In order for James to truly know she was like him, Elizabeth slightly lowered the back of her dress whilst shutting her eyes before her skin stretched itself and then ripped itself open, a slight grunt coming from Elizabeth as brilliant white wings grew from her back. The subtle clicks could be heard from the bones arranging themselves until her wings gave an almighty beat to their full span, easily reaching double her arm span as her skin elegantly and seamlessly healed itself.
Rolling her shoulders a little, Elizabeth let out a small sigh of relief as she opened her eyes again and smiled at James. "The King was mostly correct in his statement.... I'm an Angel.... I'm different, like you."
