It was hard on a Mermaid not to be able to go swim like they wanted to. Even fresh water would have done. He knew that freshwater would end up making him feel a little dizzy and a little sick in the end but it was sooooo worth it when he thought of flicking his tail. Recently he'd ventured to the elven city where they had all set up camp and waited for the King and Queen to finish any duties that had brought them all to the city in the first place. The men were calm, relaxed and doing whatever guards and knights did... Training.
Jason was incredibly bored of the whole training gig so naturally the poor thing wanted to get out and do something different. That something different happened to be a wander in the forest. That's when the water called to him. It was like something he could not resist. Like when someone put a chocolate chip triple chocolate three layer with double cream cake in front of you. How could you resist taking a finger full of chocolate and stuffing it between your lips guiltily?
Jason started to run toward the smell and the sense of the great body of water. He dashed through a clearing and there is was, just down the hill from him...The great lake was right there before him. He paused to admire it for a few moments before breaking free from his awe and surprise and rushing down the embankment, flinging clothes and things to the side as he went. By the time he reached the water's edge he was completely naked. He didn't hesitate to proceed in further when he began to change.
He splashed and swam deep down into the lake. Fish and other creatures seemed drawn to him instantly coming to swim beside him. The moment he reached the bottom, he grazed along it, before shooting to the surface once more. He broke the surface which sent him shooting upward out of the water. The mermaid did a full arch, splashing backward into the water again and doing a loop.
Once he broke the surface a second time, he pushed his hair out of his eyes, backward, his gills between each of his ribs on the side of his body working hard under the water to give him air from moving so unexpectedly fast. Jason fist pumped the air in glee and delight for finding a place to swim.
"Yes! Finally!"
He screamed to the sky, not caring that anyone actually knew.
