The minimum contingent of guards followed the Queen as she thundered across the open fields towards the lake. Blonde hair streamed out behind her as the joyous sound of her laughter filled the air. Nalaac felt free for the first time in a few weeks, and she was going to enjoy it. The sharp tang of the air filled her lungs, that bright, clean smell that came after the deluge of rain that was now off to their left.
Things were better between herself and Blaine, and the Queen was pleased about it. It wasn't perfect by any means, but it was a start. She was determined to celebrate in her own way, and being out in nature and among all the creatures of the Mother was the perfect celebration to the Elven queen. She would have gone back to her village, but she couldn't stay, so she chose the lake instead.
She slowed the horse as they came near the blue waters of the lake, and then hopped nimbly off, letting the reins trail in the dirt, secure in the knowledge that her guard would take care of it. She looked around for a few minutes, then knelt in a grassy area and lifted her hands, reciting words in Elvish. There was a cadence to them, as if she were signing a song or reciting a poem. The air around her seemed to shimmer slightly as the words continued on and on.
Nalaac and her guards were intent on what she was doing, leaving her exposed to whomever else might interrupt her small ritual.
