Bright white light blinded the blonde boy's green eyes causing him to blink furiously. Where was he? The walls were stark white and unfamiliar to say the least. Maybe this was one of Bell's jokes. Probably moved him to some weird room to freak him out. Typical, everyone love messing with him. Looking down at himself, Vincent saw that he was wearing some weird clothes... Clothes that were definitely not his. On his wrist where the wristband with a stone Jules gave him usually stayed, there was a generic wristband with numbers on it.
A tiny bit of panic began to set in. "Jules? Jules where are you?" he called out, standing and moving towards the door to the strange room. There was no answer. "Jules!?" Stepping out of the room and into thee hallway, Vincent could see that this was not the power plant in Brookfield. Footsteps echoed down the hallway to one side. Looking over Vince saw something he never thought he'd see again, an adult.
For a moment, Vince was speechless. Why was there a living adult walking around? The uneasiness in him then grew exponentially. He needed to find his little brother. "Jules!" Vincent walked down the halls looking for any sign of the black-haired boy. Eventually he simply started to look for anyone he knew. Hell, he'd even be happy to see Brian at this point. The sight of more adults dressed as nurses and doctors didn't bring any comfort to him. At one point he thought he heard someone scream in a far off room.
A room labeled "Dining Hall" in a blocky font appeared. A clock on the wall told Vince that it was lunch time. Maybe... Maybe Jules was in there. Maybe the young boy was there with the rest of the farmers. Without a second thought Vincent walked through the door. It was filled with other people wearing the same clothes as him. To one side he saw two people he assumed to be staff handing out small white tablets and cups of water. "Oh God..."

Drew leaned easily against the wall beside the dining hall doorway checking off each patient that he knew by appearance. He took a certain pride in knowing all his patients and could pick out patients that he considered as travellers just by the fact that he didn't recognize their names. He'd seen a new nurse recently, a young Asian girl and he sooo soooo didn't like it one little bit. Sure, they could be patients and Drew would look after them, keep an eye on them but if they were staff they put the lives of his patients in danger.
One wrong tablet here and there and his hard work on his patients would be foiled. Drew sighed heavily. He'd decide how to handle the nurse later. For now he had the checkl- Vincent... He didn't have a Vince- and then the younger man stepped through the door, his eyes wide, his face white. Ah, there we go. New traveler. Good. Patient. He was a patient. Drew moved in beside him and gently touched his shoulder to draw his attention.
"Calm down. Calm down. You're being watched constantly. If you become out of order, you'll get into trouble and not the kind that leaves you unscathed. I'm Doctor Drew Shepard and you must be..." Drew gently took the boy's wrist and examined the wrist band. "6450...Hmmm. " He dropped Vincent's wrist and checked his clipboard.
"Vincent Hampshire. " Drew gave him an apologetic and sympathetic smile. "Let me help you get through this? Please? Without my help... well... " Drew winced a little to show Vincent what could happen if Vincent didn't accept Drew's help or listen to him then flashed a look at the orderlies as if this also should help convince Vincent that Drew was basically his only help... which was true.

Vincent flinched and raised an arm to push away the person who touched him. He glared at the doctor beside him. There was no way he was going to be calm until he found his little brother. "Don't touch me." he snapped, but of course the doctor did no such thing and grabbed his wrist. As the doctor checked his list Vincent hoped that his name wasn't on the list... That this was all a mistake. Hell, he'd settle for this to just be a bad dream. Of course, Vincent wasn't that lucky.
Glancing over at the group of staff with smiles plastered on their faces and glints of malice in their eyes, Vincent swallowed. "Look, I don't know where I am, how I got here, or how all you adults are alive, but all I want is to find my little brother and the the hell out." His voice was low and deadly calm. He didn't trust Dr. Shepard, but if that was the only way he could find Jules, then so be it. "His name is Julian Leroy Hampshire and he's fourteen years old."

Drew gave Vincent a sympathetic look and tilted his head like the very person that Vincent had met had just about died. Drew slowly shook his head. "I don't recognize the name Vincent, I'm afraid. There is no escape from Hope's Haven Institution. You're here and you have to make the best out of it and I want to help you. You have to let me help you Vincent." Drew reiterated before motioning to one of the orderlies who brought a little cup of pills and water.
Drew gave the orderly the charts in exchange for the items and held them out to Vincent. "Please Vincent. Take these and then maybe we can go to my office and talk about your brother." He wondered if the boy would trust him enough. This was the first part. If Vincent took the pills then maybe Vincent would be able to follow Drew's instructions that would help Vincent survive the horror he'd fallen into.
He was here to help the travelers. He was here to make sure they survived this with very little mental injuries but that was easier said than done. Drew had his favourites and those were the ones who trusted him. Nate and Xavier and Elizabeth. All of them he'd helped teach to be brilliant actors so they could get through this. He needed to tell Vincent what was going on but he couldn't risk it out in the open.

Things just seemed to be getting worse and worse. It didn't comfort Vincent that he was in an institution and he absolutely refused to believe there was no escape. One of the staff members from the side of the dining hall came over with pills and water with a wolfish grin on his face. His eyes dared Vince to make a wrong move. Maybe it was a good thing the doctor didn't recognize Jules' name. The blonde wouldn't want his brother anywhere near this place... Still, he couldn't stand being separated from his brother.
Vince eyed the doctor carefully. The pills in the cup did not look appealing at all. Who knew what those things did. There wasn't any malice or ill intent in the doctor's eyes though. Then again he could just be pitying Vincent and think he's totally crazy, which he wasn't. Gritting his teeth Vince reluctantly took the pills and water from the other man's hands. "Let's get things straight, given the choice, I wouldn't trust any of you. But you seem like the better option than them right now." he said tilting his head in the direction of the psychotic looking staff members before knocking back the pills and water.
Taking those pills was probably one of the most reckless things he'd ever done besides jumping into a cage with three starving dobermans. In fact he still have the scars on his left arm to show it. Silently he hoped those dogs were okay. He'd left them at the power plant so hopefully someone was taking care of them now. "Seeing as I don't really have an appetite right now, let's talk." Nothing in this place comforted him and it made him sick to his stomach. Never had he missed the farm more than now.

The boy seemed to consider his options and then took the tablets. There.. they'd be happy now. Happy that Drew had convinced the new boy to take the tablets. Those horrible tablets. One was to keep emotions on the low down turning patients into zombie like creatures. The other was more or less to make the poor victims of the madness believe that they were utterly mad. It was twisted what these drugs could do. Stripping all thought lines in the mind was something electroshock therapy was also good for.
Brain cells died at a more rapid rate with the electroshock therapy and it was not really used as often. The drug was a safer way of keeping experiment subjects able to respond. That's what they were and Drew knew it but he could do nothing about it. He had to be here to protect them. Drew nodded to the orderly beside him who took the cups from Vincent and backed away. Drew slipped in beside Vincent sliding an arm around his shoulder and leading him out the dining room into the hallway.
"Vincent? You need to hold out for three months. You'll be here for exactly three months. You need to follow my advice and trust me, please..." Drew began whispering in a low voice attempting to keep eye contact as they made their way down the hall toward his office. He just had to pay that Vincent would heed his words. "Tell me about you so I can understand what I'm dealing with at least. " Drew urged.

Even though he had literally just taken the pills, he already was starting to feel sick from them. Maybe it was all just in his head, but whatever it was, he didn't like it at all. Vincent wasn't going to show it though... not in front of the doctor and most certainly not in front of that group of sadists. He walked with Dr. Shepard through the hallway, eyes darting everywhere. There were many doors, most probably lead to examination rooms and offices. The feeling of the doctor's hand on his shoulder brought Vincent no comfort. In fact he'd prefer it if no one touched him at all right now.
"Three months!?" he hissed under his breath. Vincent didn't have three months. There was a farm he needed to get back to. There were cows and a vegetable garden that needed attending too. Hell, there were even more chores that needed to be done ever since Reece, Jamie, and the others had left Brookfield in search of help. Vincent couldn't imagine Lena, Astrid, and Jules (assuming the boy was still at the farm) being able to take care of it all.
Vincent huffed and stayed silent for a few moments before speaking. The doctor, so far, seemed to be the only person to confide in at the moment. What could possibly happen if he talked about the farm and the post-apocalyptic world? He was already in the asylum. "I live on a farm near the city, Brookfield. The world has pretty much been wasted after WWIII. All of you adults are supposed to be dead from this virus released from the biological warfare." That was the basic, impersonal story of what happened. There was no way Vincent was going to talk about himself to this complete stranger of a doctor.

You have been visited byThe Ghost of a dead Patitient. All she does is scream a highpitch sound that only those that have seen her will be able to hear.
Suddenly out from one of the wall, seeming oblivious stepped the screaming woman. Her eyes fixed on the doctor then she crouched down and started to scream. Her long finger nails began scratching at the flesh on her face. Next person to post will be in charge of the screaming woman. She is able to scratch and dislikes staff members especially. Her scream can only be heard by the people who see her though.

Drew winced when he heard Vincent hiss about the three months part and his eyes drifted away from the young man. He understood this was hard news to take but they all had to make do with what they had. During these next three months he was sure he would find himself in some sort of danger or trouble if he didn't watch himself and Drew was determined to help Vincent watch himself.
"You need to calm down. They watch. They always watch. Every move. Every word. They watch." Drew whispered his head tilted down, not at all making eyecontact this time. In fact, his eyes were on the floor. It would be harder for the camera to see his lips move. Maybe Drew was being paranoid but he could hardly stop himself from being paranoid could he? This place made one paranoid.
Drew listened finally lifting his eyes to meet Vincent's frowning at the words world war 3. Adults dying? What if that happened here? Maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing really. Adults were causing mayhem and chaos already with what they did to their fellow human beings and the environment. "Drew! Watch out!" The doctor's breath caught when he heard Edward's voice whispering behind him and he pulled his hand from Vincent's shoulder, twisting in the vain hope that he would see his lover.
Nothing.
Drew turned back to Vincent. "You'll have to tell me more than that. Here my office is just aro-" She came out and the screaming started. Drew gave a cry and lifted his hands to cover his ears backing away as he stared at the screaming woman. "Edward! Make her stop!" Drew screamed backing away more, a pained look on his face, his eyes fixed on the ghost blocking their path.
Edward smirk at his lover beside him and rolled his eyes. "You only call me when you need me, Dewdrop. " He sighed and twisted to the ghost moving to crouch beside her. He opened his mouth and screamed back at her.
The ghost suddenly stopped and stared at someone whom Drew wished he could see. He slowly uncovered his ears and watched her flick her eyes from whom he assumed was Edward crouched there to Vincent. "No! Vincent! Run!" The Ghost flickered from one place to another her head twisted to the side like her neck had snapped.
Her eyes were wide and empty and finally she reached out for Vincent to grab onto his wrist, a vice grip, nails biting at the soft human flesh underneath them. She screamed again but this time Drew didn't just back away. One of his patients were in trouble. He rushed to try and get Vincent out of her grip by tugging and pulling at his other hand.

The more Vince learned about this place, the less he liked about it. Not that he ever did like it, but now he was just starting to hate it. The boy ran a hand through his blonde hair in frustration. How could he calm down!? Calm would only come to him if he had his brother with him safe and sound or if he had his violin.
Suddenly the doctor grabbed his shoulder. "What?" he asked, considering for a moment to shrug the man's hand off. He did not like strangers grabbing him. The expression on the doctor's face didn't tell him anything. There was no way a doctor here could be crazy... right? Just when he thought the doctor was back to normal, the man started to act like a dog around a dog whistle. "Who the hell is Edward? What's going on?" Vincent had half the mind to run and get away from this guy.
Wait, the doctor was telling him to run now. "Why? What's wr-" Something grabbed him... Something that he couldn't see before, but could clearly see now. Vincent lurched back, trying to pull his wrist out of the screaming woman's claws. "LET GO! LET GO!" he cried out as the nails dug into his skin. Blood started to well up from underneath the woman's nails. The doctor tried to help him, but it wasn't much help in Vince's opinion. He tried pulling his wrist away from the woman, and her nails simply made the cuts bigger, as her nails dragged down his skin.
Vincent tried grabbing the woman's wrist in an attempt to get her off. To his horror, his hand simply passed through her. His eyes widened as he stared at the horrifying creature. Was this the doing of the drugs? Maybe he was hallucinating... No, this felt far too real to be a simple illusion. Her scream pierced his ears like shards of glass. Was he screaming as well? Vincent didn't know. This felt like a nightmare.

Drew's heart was beating out of his chest. No! The boy, HIS patient! His eyes were wide with panic and tears began to well up. "Edward! Help me!" He cried out in desperation. The lights started to flicker in the hallway. The intercom buzzed white noise. Edward... Drew knew it. He was getting angry. It was time to tip his fiance over the edge. Drew reached forward suddenly letting go of Vincent to try and get the woman's claws off the boy but his hands moved right through her fingers.
She was starting to drag Vincent down the hallway by sheer force to try and get away from Drew. "Let him go!" Drew screamed fiercely at the screaming woman and she abruptly slashed one hand across Drew's cheek to cause angry red gashes. One of the lights above burst the moment she did that.
Underneath the white noise Drew heard distinct words. You touch my Fiance, you touch me...bitch. Suddenly the screaming woman was gone and Drew and Vincent were left in utter darkness in the hallways. Drew carefully lifted his hand to feel the warm blood under his finger tips. His breathing came out in panting gasps. "Vincent? Are you okay?" Just as suddenly as the lights had gone off, they came on again and Drew's eyes flashed around finally finding Vincent where the woman had left him.
He rushed to Vincent's side. "I have a medical kit in my office. Come with me and we'll get you patched up." Pretend that nothing happened and get on with it. That was what Drew always did... always always.
